Tour Overview
During this 12-day Iceland photography workshop in 2027, we’ll journey through some of the most iconic and awe-inspiring landscapes Iceland has to offer. We’ll begin in Reykjavik, where we’ll explore the city’s vibrant architecture and sample local cuisine before traveling to the photogenic Kirkjufell, one of the most photographed mountains in the world. With high potential for Aurora Borealis activity, you’ll have a chance to capture the Northern Lights dancing over this stunning landscape.
Â
From there, we’ll move on to the Skogafoss Waterfall, where you’ll photograph the powerful cascades and explore nearby gems such as Kvernufoss Canyon and Seljalandsfoss. The dramatic cliffs of Dyrhólaey and the striking Black Sand Beaches with sea stacks provide further opportunities for captivating shots.
Â
Our journey then takes us to the Valley of Tears and the striking Raudaskal Volcano, offering unique opportunities to capture volcanic landscapes. You’ll also have a chance to photograph a plane wreck along Iceland’s famous braided rivers, adding a rugged touch to your portfolio.
Â
At Vestahorn, we’ll shoot the jagged peaks rising above black sands, with plenty of chances to catch the Aurora illuminating the skies. We’ll also visit the enchanting Ice Cave and Glacier Lake at Jökulsárlón, where you’ll capture the stunning interplay of ice, water, and sky.
Â
Heading further east, you’ll explore the towering basalt columns at Studlagil Canyon and the waterfall at Hengifoss, showcasing Iceland’s raw, geological beauty. The dramatic landscape of Fjadrargljufur Canyon and the unique Diamond Beach provide the perfect ending to this adventure, with one last chance to photograph Glacier Lake from a boat tour.
Â
Throughout the workshop, you’ll receive personalised instruction, helping you refine your techniques in various lighting and weather conditions—whether it’s capturing the soft glow of sunrise, the vivid colors of sunset, or the brilliance of the Northern Lights. You’ll stay in comfortable accommodations near each key location, ensuring you have the best access to capture Iceland’s landscapes at their most magical. This workshop is the ultimate opportunity to experience and photograph Iceland’s natural wonders while elevating your skills.
